A: Data Pilot allows the cell phone to be used as a modem to get internet access. All cell phones with modem chip or dialing up capability can be used for this purpose. AT&T usually disables this chip in the free phones it
provides though. Even if the phone wasn't free from AT&T, the chances are that the modem chip is disabled.

Q: What does USB stand for?
A: USB stands for Universal Serial Bus.
Back To Questions

Q: Why is it called Universal Serial Bus?
A: It is called Universal Serial Bus because with one connector you can use many different types of devices. Printers normally used to have parallel or serial connections on them but now have USB connections. Scanners normally used to have parallel or SCSI connections but now use USB. Already you have 3 different types of connectors now using only one Universal USB connector.

Back To Questions

Q: What is the maximum number of devices you can use on a single USB controller?
A: Each USB controller on a computer can use up to 127 devices making it almost limitless. To get to 127 devices you do need to use USB hubs. Remember that each USB hub you use counts as a USB device.
Back To Questions

Q: Can you use USB 1.x devices on USB 2.0 controllers?
A: Yes but they will only work at USB 1.x speeds. The only time you will get the full 480Mbps speed out of a USB 2.0 controller is if you are using a true USB 2.0 device.
Back To Questions

Q: What are the capabilities and limitations of USB?
A: Expandable: Connect up to 127 USB devices to any USB Connector

Hot Pluggable: No need to shut down or restart your computer with USB. Simply plug in your USB device while the computer is running.

Plug-and-Play: The first time you plug in a new USB device, the computer automatically loads any necessary software.

One Connector/cable: There is only one kind of device cable, and any device can plug into any available USB port making connections simple, fast and flexible. Cables length should be 5 meters or less.

High Speed: USB is much faster than older ways of connecting devices. With speeds up to 12Mbps and 480Mbps with USB 2.0 supporting high-speed modems, video devices, keyboards, game controllers, and more all at the same time is no longer a problem.
