Article ATTENTION DUAL BAND PHONE OWNERS! By Tony Para

Tips Which May Save You Some Dough & A Billing Headache. We know its hard to talk to those guys in the billing Dept. of your Cellular/Wireless Service Provider! Avoid the Hassle!

  • If you have a Dual Band Phone and your Phone keeps Switching between "ANALOG" and "DIGITAL" Modes, than the Roaming Feature on your phone is set on Automatic. Go Into the Menu Section of your Phone and than Look for "Roaming"/"Set Mode" Feature. Enter it and Set the Roaming Mode to Either :"Digital" or "Analog".
  • Switch between Analog and Digital according to Your Area of use.
  • Most of the Times, Using your phone in Analog would mean Roaming charges are being applied with each of your calls being made and received. If your Service provider has set you up on Digital service, than I am very sure that you will be paying Roaming charges for using your phone in Analog Mode unless you have already bought "roaming minutes in a bundle". Analog Mode is Helpful when you are out in an Area where there is no digital Service. Minimize your use in Analog Mode unless you are rich and don't mind paying a high cellular/wireless bill.
  • If you use your phone in Town most of the time and you have digital wireless service, I would suggest you to keep your phone in Digital Mode. Do confirm this with your Service provider.
  • Do Remember and also show your Family Members to feature of Changing Modes. Its helpful in case you ever go into an area where you have to change the Mode on your phone.
  • Also Remember that If your Phone is in Digital Mode, it will go Dead (service wise) when you travel into an area which doesn't have Digital Coverage. In such a Case, Remember to switch your phone's mode to Analog. and Vice Versa.
  • Tip You do not automatically get charged Roaming Fees if your phone is just sitting in analog Mode. Analog charges apply only when you actually use your phone, like call some one or receive calls. You may want to check with your service provider about the roaming rates they charge in various areas.
  • Always 'Know your Phone'. Go through the Phone Manual to have a rough idea what your phone is all about.

Article HOW TO USE YOUR CELLULAR PHONE WHILE DRIVING! SAFETY TIPS BY GEORGE MASON

        1. Familiarize yourself with every feature and function of your phone, especially placing and receiving calls.
      2. Program frequently called numbers into your phone's memory. One number in the permanent memory
should be 911 for emergency calls. Of course, do not test calls to 911.
      3. Purchase a cell phone with a speakerphone feature. The device will leave your hands
free for your primary purpose: driving.
      4. Practice using the phone while the car is stationary.
      5. Make sure your phone is easily accessible, within comfortable reach and as close to
your line of vision as possible.

        Tips:

If you plan to return a series of calls while on the road, make a list before you leave
home or work and store the numbers in the phone's memory.

        Warnings:

Talking on a cell phone while driving is dangerous and has resulted in numerous
accidents. It is highly recommended that you wait to make or receive calls until you've
        stopped the car.

         Recommended for Your Safety

We recommend use of a Handsfree Kit or Speaker Phone while Driving. Although the use of a hands free Kit is not 100% safe but it will help you in keeping both of your Hands on the wheel and attention on the road. The type of Handsfree Kit recommended is either a Car Speaker Phone or a Handsfree Kit which stays in place. A good Example is the following in the Picture:

Article WIRELESS PHONE MANNERS BY SHAHBAZ KHAN

With Our lives being on the run, more people are using wireless devices as a mean of communication and doing business fast and convenient. We are using phones in restaurants, trains and public areas. Few Wireless Manners we should follow at certain places:
  • In Class/Dinners/Restaurants, avoid using the phone unnecessarily. Turn your phone off or on to Vibrator. Prefer Phones with Caller ID feature so that in case you do not accept an incoming call,  you can return calls after you leave the public area. If your have to receive an important call, Press Talk on the phone and than take yourself to a private spot in the Restaurant or outside of the facility.
  • At Work Place, ask your boss about use of cellular devices at work. Do not take cell calls at work if use of cell phones is not allowed. Have your phone turned to vibrator or silent feature.
  • While using your phone at a public place, protect the privacy of your conversation. Talk in a low tone or move to a private/isolated spot where no one can hear you.
  • Do Not use Wireless Phones in Rest Rooms. Its unhealthy for you where germs can be transferred to your mouth piece or ear piece of your phone. Other than that, most of the people in the same public rest room find it extremely impolite if they can hear some one having a conversation while being inside such a facility. Even the person on the other End of your call will find it impolite if they realize that you are in the rest room while talking to them. Return calls after you leave the rest room.
  • A good rule is to follow the popular culture around you concerning cellular etiquette.
