The Samsung F110 Adidas miCoach is a lightweight slider
phone with a robust plastic casing and a patterned grip-finish on the rear
casing and around the joypad, designed to assist grips as you build up a sweat.
At 80g and similar in size to an iPod Mini, the phone is a good weight and shape
to be held comfortably while youre running and also tucks comfortably into one
of those little Velcro arm straps. A volume control on the right-hand side of
the phone is similarly grip friendly and the important key functions are clearly
signposted with relevant icons like a runner and a music symbol.
Adidas miCoach is designed to be a training support utility.
Adidas already has a complex training planner, administrator and diagnostic
system, called miCoach. An important element of miCoach is that users can
register on Adidas website, created specially of this purpose, and keep track
of their results. In order to create a perfect training program, this feature
becomes an absolute necessity.The F110 comes with a heart-rate monitor you strap
around your chest and a small sensor that you tie to the laces of your trainers.
These pass real-time information to the phones miCoach software to monitor your
progress as you run. The data collected by the phone can then be uploaded via
your PC to the miCoach Web site, where you can create a personal training plan
based on your fitness level.
