The hunt has ended as Verizon Wireless and Novatel Wireless have unveiled the new V640, a WWAN PCI ExpressCard, for use with Verizon Wireless Broadband Access service.The V640 ExpressCard allows notebook users to employ ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54 slots to wirelessly connect to the Internet at broadband speeds via Verizon Wireless national high-speed 3G Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network. Note that the Verizon is the only vendor to provide the Express Card service. Sprint lacks the support for the Express card.Being compact, the V640 boasts plug-n-play so that the ExpressCard can be plugged in or removed at any time.
