IOGEAR GBE201 Bluetooth Wireless Headset

With an MSRP of less than $70, we didn’t expect a whole lot from this simple-looking device. The GBE201 Bluetooth Wireless Headset from IOGEAR has three function buttons, an LED (light-emitting diode) that lets you know when it’s on, and an LED that let’s you know when it’s charging. You definitely won’t get lost in the special features of this device. At four and a half hours of talk time or 100 hours of standby time per charge, it is also the low-water mark on battery life.

Though this headset is lacking in battery life, the sound quality is nice. The receiver used in the GBE201 Bluetooth Wireless Headset didn’t come across as clear as the top performers in our study, but it is definitely no slouch. The microphone worked very well, conveying our message in a crystal-clear manner. As far as comfort goes, after 10 minutes of wearing this device we practically forgot we had it on; you won’t notice its 0.6-ounce mass. The device isn’t bulky at all, and although we had initial concerns about the comfort of the detachable ear piece, we were quickly at ease after we put the device on.

The accessories that accompany the IOGEAR are helpful. The headset comes with an AC charger, a USB charger, and a silver lanyard that keeps the headset easily accessible.
