Some iPod models come with a power adapter. If not, or if you need additional adapters, you can purchase USB and FireWire Apple iPod Power Adapters.
Note:
While many iPod models can use either adapter, make sure you have the correct cable. If you happen to have the wrong cable for a particular adapter, you can order additional cables, FireWire-to-Dock Connector cable or USB-to-Dock Connector cable, online. iPod shuffle requires the iPod USB Power Adapter.
The Apple iPod Power Adapter has two parts as illustrated in Figure:
- The AC plug adapter
- The power adapter (with FireWire or USB port)
